Nativity! The Musical – Tour Announcement

BOARD_LANDSCAPE_Master[1].pngYou better watch out, you better not cry, you better not shout, I’m telling you why…Nativity! The Musical will be coming to a town near you in 2017.

Every child in every school has one Christmas wish, to star in a Nativity, and at St Bernadette’s School they’ve decided to mount a musical version! Join teacher Mr Maddens and his crazy assistant Mr Poppy as they struggle with hilarious children, unruly animals and a whole lot of sparkle and shine to make everyone’s Christmas wish come true. Featuring all of your favourite sing-a-long songs from the smash-hit films including Sparkle and Shine, Nazareth and One Night One MomentNativity! The Musical promises to be the perfect feel-good comedy for all the family.

This new production by Birmingham Repertory Theatre  will have its world premiere at the Birmigham Repertory Theatre, before touring across England, including Sheffield, Manchester, Plymouth, London and a Christmas season in Leeds.

With music and lyrics by Nicky Ager and Debbie Isitt, Nativity! The Musical will also be directed by Isitt, creator and director of the original film series. On the move from the big screen to the stage, Isitt said:

“I’ve always believed that Nativity! would make a fantastic stage musical. It is so full of joy and the children are so sweet and funny and the songs so catchy that it lends itself to being the perfect Christmas musical. Now we’ve been able to assemble our theatrical dream team, I can’t wait to get started on creating an unforgettable stage show”.
