along with a whole bunch of revolutionary manumission abolitionists castings have been announced for the West End transfer of Hamilton.
Reported by The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamgboye (and seemingly confirmed by Lin Manuel Miranda), the Schuyler sisters will be played by Rachel John (Angelica), Rachelle Ann Go (Eliza) and Christine Allado (Peggy) in the (second) greatest city in the world. Obioma Ugoala plays the first president of the United States George Washington, while Giles Terera will take on the role of Hamilton’s friend turned foe Aaron Burr (originated by Leslie Odom Jr). Rounding out the main cast are Jason Pennycooke (Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Tarinn Callender (Mulligan/James Madison) and Cleve September (John Laurens/Philip Hamilton).
Priority booking has already opened for the first booking period of Hamilton, with public booking due to open on Monday 30th January 2017. Reopening the Victoria Palace Theatre, this marks Lin’s second show to transfer to London. In the Heights recently closed after extende-run-after-extended-run at the Kings Cross Theatre, and Lin himself was in attendance for the show’s final night. Though the West End bid farewell to the show, it’s not goodbye for some of the cast as Allado and September return their second Lin show.
As for the roles of Hamilton and King George, it seems we will still have to wait for it, wait for it, wait for it…
