WhatsOnStage Awards 2017: Results

This weekend, the annual WhatsOnStage Awards were held at the Prince of Wales theatre. Now in its 17th year, the awards celebrate the best of theatre in the UK as voted for by the public.

Host Simon Lipkin (Miss Atomic Bomb, Assassins) oversaw proceedings on the night, which saw Harry Potter and the Cursed Child win eight awards including Best New Play. Best New Musical went to School of RockHalf a Sixpence gained three wins including Best Actor in a Musical for Charlie Stemp. The Equity Award for Lifetime Achievement (So Far) was awarded to Cameron Mackintosh.
